Music Director / Conductor

Valerie likes to dive into the details and assemble the pieces in a systematic yet creative way: teaching parts, figuring out how the music informs the text, understanding the composer’s intentions, and rehearsing orchestras to help tell the story. These are just a few of the things that Valerie focuses on in rehearsals and performances.

In various capacities, Valerie has music directed and conducted everything from Strauss’s Die Fledermaus to Stephen Sondheim’s Follies to SIX on Broadway. It can be medieval or made for TV and Valerie will make it work.

Please reference her online CV for a list of her expansive repertoire list.

Let Valerie Maze Lead Your Performance as Music Director/Conductor

“...Musical ‘Six,’ about Henry VIII’s wives, is unapologetically revisionist. That’s why it’s successful… The all-female band, led by keyboardist Valerie Maze, is right onstage, and the energy level is high. (Margaret Gray, Los Angeles Times, 5/14/2023)”
